Peter Engel , CPA

Peter Engel is a senior accounting professional and Partner Emeritus at Aprio & Co. Peter graduated from Washington and Lee University and acquired his MBA degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. He served as partner at Leaf, Miele, Manganelli, Fortunato & Engel LLP and later at Aprio Inc. Mr. Engel brings a wealth of experience in healthcare and financial matters. He joined the board of the Electrophysiology Research Foundation in 2023

Dennis J. Bruschi MHA (Trustee 1987-2010, deceased)

Dennis Bruschi a senior hospital administrator served as Trustee and Administrator of the Electrophysiology Research Foundation from 1987 to 2010. A graduate of the University of Buffalo, he obtained his MHA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He served with distinction in the Vietnam war and returned to hospital administration after his service. He served as Deputy Director of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center till 1989, when he assumed the role of President of Bayonne Hospital. He joined the Board of Trustees of the Foundation in 1987 and served in the role of Administrator of the Foundation

Morris J. Stern JD (Trustee 1982-1991, deceased)

Morris Stern was a distinguished member of the New Jersey Bar and Judiciary. He graduated from Lafayette College and obtained his law degree from Rutgers’ University and Master of Law degree from New York University. Morris served as a Captain in the US Army in 1966-1968. He practiced law in Essex County NJ for three decades and specialized in Corporate and Banking Law. He was appointed to the NJ Bench as a Judge in 2001. Mr. Stern served as a Founding Trustee of the Electrophysiology Research Foundation from 1982-1991.

 

Our Vision

The foundation supports the vision that the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and dissemination of knowledge related to heart rhythm disorders to the public, health care professionals, and educational fora worldwide will enhance and improve public health and meet a worldwide need. The foundation promotes training of health care professionals, provides funding for research and helps execute research projects in partnership with investigators and health care institutions. The Foundation is committed to worldwide promotion of the science of cardiac electrophysiology and implantable device therapy for cardiac arrhythmias.
